Sven MacNeil is a Toronto-based writer working on his debut novel, a work of literary fiction about memory, loss, and the families we make and unmake over the course of a life.
He studied political science and English at York University and public relations at Humber College. Two decades spent working inside the service industry gave him an education in human nature that no classroom could replicate, in the particular way people behave under pressure, in close quarters, when the stakes feel both enormous and mundane.
He writes about the things that don’t resolve cleanly. The relationships that end without closure. The people who pass through a life and leave a mark that has no name.
Outside of writing, he is a father, a lover of dogs and cats, and a long-suffering supporter of Toronto sports teams.
